Other ways to share an idea
You do not have to use this website to take part in Vision 2040. If the online form does not work for you — for any reason — the City of Ponca City will take your idea another way:
- By phone: 580-767-0339 — ask for Vision 2040.
- In person: City Hall, 516 E. Grand Ave., Ponca City, during regular business hours.
- By mail: Vision 2040, City of Ponca City, P.O. Box 1450, Ponca City, OK 74602.
- Relay service: If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, dial 711 to reach Oklahoma Relay, then give them the number above.
Ideas shared by phone, mail, or in person carry exactly the same weight as ideas submitted online, and are subject to the same August 17, 2026 deadline.
Our commitment
Ponca City Vision 2040 is an initiative of the City of Ponca City, and this site is built to be usable by everyone in our community — including residents who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or voice control.
Conformance status
This site is designed to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We test with automated tooling and manual keyboard review.
We believe the site currently meets Level AA. Accessibility is not a one-time task, though — if you find something that does not work for you, please tell us and we will fix it.
What we've built in
- A “skip to main content” link as the first item for keyboard users
- Full keyboard operation, with a visible focus indicator on every control
- The mobile menu traps focus while open and closes with the Escape key
- Every form field has a visible, permanent label — not a placeholder alone
- Text and interface colors meet or exceed AA contrast ratios
- Semantic landmarks and headings in a logical order
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative art is hidden from screen readers
- Errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers
No accessibility overlay
This site does not use an accessibility overlay or plugin. Overlays load after screen readers have already read the page and can interfere with the assistive technology people already rely on. We fix accessibility in the site’s own code instead.
Known limitations
The public survey is hosted by SurveyMonkey on their own platform, so its accessibility is governed by SurveyMonkey rather than by this site. If you have trouble with the survey, use any of the alternatives above and we will record your response directly.
