Privacy Policy

Ponca City Vision 2040 collects information in one place: the share an idea form. When you submit an idea, we collect:

• Your idea — the focus area, title, and description you write.
• Your address (required) — sharing an idea is open to people who live in Ponca City or own or run a business here, and the address (home or business) is how we confirm that.
• Your name, email address, and ZIP code (all optional) — only if you choose to provide them.
• Basic technical information — the page you submitted from, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We do not store your actual IP address, and the hash cannot be reversed back into one. It exists to help us spot spam and duplicate submissions.

Ideas are shared with the Vision 2040 team and inform the work of the Visioning Committee beginning in Fall 2026. Your address is used to confirm your connection to Ponca City and for nothing else.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We will not add you to any mailing list — Vision 2040 does not operate one.

We do not publish individual submissions. Our progress page shows how many ideas we’ve received in each focus area, plus a summary the Vision 2040 team writes about the themes we’re hearing. Your idea is not posted, quoted, or attributed to you on this website.

Your name, street address, email, and ZIP code are never displayed on this site. Only the Vision 2040 team sees them.

Vision 2040 is a City of Ponca City initiative, so what you send us becomes a record of the City. Oklahoma’s Open Records Act can require the City to release records when someone requests them, and that law — not this page — decides what must be released.

In plain terms: we will not publish your submission ourselves, but we cannot promise that no one will ever obtain it through a public records request. Please don’t include anything in your idea that you would not want disclosed.

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies for visitors. The only cookie we use is a sign-in cookie for city staff administering the site, which is never set for members of the public.

The public survey is hosted by SurveyMonkey, and the City of Ponca City Facebook page is operated by Meta. When you use those, their privacy policies apply — not this one. Survey responses are held by SurveyMonkey and are not stored in this website’s database.

Idea submissions are kept for the duration of the Vision 2040 planning process so the Visioning Committee can refer back to what the community asked for. As City records, they are also subject to the State of Oklahoma’s records retention rules.

This site is intended for adult residents of Ponca City and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
